Kar se ti\u010de potni\u0161kega prometa pa je bila prva vzpostavljena linija s parnikom v Trst leta 1858 s parnikom Melira, kateremu je sledil San Rocco leta 1868 ter nekaj let kasneje Telegrafo, ki je \u0161e imel pogon na stranska kolesa, kar je takrat \u017ee bilo v zatonu.
